Leakage past exhaust valve

I have been having a misfire problem with my Chevy HHR 2007 so I took it to the dealer and I have 50 psi & 60% leakage past exhaust valve in cylinder 1 according to dealer with $2500 to $3200 repair cost. just went over a hundred thousand miles.

What sort of problems? Like only a misfire or anything else going on with it?

When I am at idle usually below 2000 RPM it sets off the TC warning signal and shifts hard between 1st and 2nd. Other than that I don't notice anything. Codes i get are p0301 & p0301pd

Treep - how about we keep all the threads about this problem in the same thread, rather than opening another

I've merged your threads and moved them to the proper section - ie: Problems/Service/Repairs

Yes, you need a valve job, the quote probably is for a ne head assembly. Read the quote you were given.

Please stop double posting.

Depending on engine new head approx.

labor 2.2L=6 hours 2.4L=9 hours

head 2.2L=$720 2.4L=$632

There could be other causes. From my own HHR experience with a leak down test, the loudest sound isn't necessarily the worst leak.
