Ya ..fronts arnt so bad if you have the right tools..Impact gun..and spring compressors..I can do a side in 20 minutes..just pay attention to HOW it comes apart so it goes back together the same way..the top plate has to be clocked correctly or the spring will not be seated correctly, plate has a locator tab on it for this purpose. Save yourelf a bundle ( for the next mod!) and have bragging rights ! I believe there may be a how too on this, somewhere in this site..read up first and have fun!

Dropped my 07 with 44,000 off this morning at a frame and alignment shop (have delt with for many years). They called to say both front struts are leaking. Seems a little premature to me, but matters not, if they are leaking, they need to be changed.

Also both rear shocks were leaking too. Replaced struts and shocks with Monroe's which IMO should hold up better than whatever GM put in them originally. First time I have ever had shocks or struts leak before at least 85,000 miles or more.

My front struts on my 07 were done under warrantee ( the rt side twice) because they were leaking. My 08 still has the originals and are still doing well.

I wonder if there was a supply quality difference Between the two years.

Although we are talking about 7 year old struts and shocks.

The after market mfgs don't expect 50K from their own replacements. Check the billboards and ads, they say replace every 50K.

Laco. Not counting the mileage, I think time got to your's. 7-8 years of use, I would be happy with that.

Have no real complaints with the HHR. This is the most major thing I have had to do to it, on my dime, so far. Its now in great shape and good to go.
