Calm down BILL C., this isn`t a national story type thing.
I hope you got the running boards if this sends you to the news people.

Why wouldn't this be covered by your comprehensive insurance? If it is indeed damage from an object from the road or another vehicle?

i carry a $500 deductable. its high because i want a lower premium. i have never claimed anything on insurance my whole life. its not that im argueing about it because i want to raise heck. THERE IS NO PROOF THAT IT WAS HIT.
the spot that they said was bad and pointed out to my wife is in the middle of the condensor........the dye from the condensor wasnt anywhere near where they said the hole is..they said it traveled........well anyone know that anything under pressure will spray all over everywhere...shake up a can of pop and aim it at the sky. if you open it i highly doubt you will be dry in the end. its not gonna miss your whole body and somehow end up in your shoe under your big toe only. i feel if its not justifiably a road hazard damage, then i shouldnt fraudulently claim it on insurance. they need to realize that we are the consumer and they make money off up when we buy a car...if its not reliable then we stop buy...why just fix the problem and turn our head and say oh well, they can do better next time..for me there wont be a next time.

i seen a truck today in waterford mi which on the back tailgate it had in big letters "are you out of a job yet, well keep buying foreign cars and you will be"
it was on a 2500 hd chevy pickup.. i wanted to shatter his window out and tell him stop feeling sorry for yourself. he was probably one of the lazy workers who takes a nap on your dime and cant figure out why they wanna cut wages.......wake-up. do your job.. give them a honest 8. build cars that you can back up.. you cant blame the foreign companies for better than you if you dont apply yourself to your job 100%. i bust my a$$ at work all day in the hot sun, usually more than 8 hours a day. then i come home and talk to my buddy that works at the gm proofing grounds in milford mi and says. yeah i test drove a vette today on the track, then i went up to the loft and took a nap. then i went and played on the interenet for a while. then i ran a few wires wires for testing. well he quit working there because he woke up, he said this aint right what we get to do... he is now a "true" mechanic and can say he makes a honest living and feel good about it..................

you must work at a dealership ehhhhhhhh

and yes i do have the runnig boards. i still like the car. stuff will happen. but gm is in no position to turn down any repeat customers even if they have to bend a rule or 2. in my case they dont have to but i know ford does. i went with my buddy to get his f250 fixed... its all in how we right it up and if it isnt covered, we can get you the best deal on parts and get the labor covered..... Graffs didnt offer a deal on the part which most places offer a percentage off for buying a car from them, nore did they try to meet in the middle. they were rude from the start.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!have a good day at work tomorrow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No just hopeing you don`t have the paint chipping problem/design flaw, that has non-board owners up in arms.

We never had turned in a claim on our insurance until a hail storm did $5,500 plus damage to our 2005 Aveo. We have $100.00 deductible and are prems. are low...Also no increase in premiums after the claim either.

thank you for being concearned. i hope nobody takes me as being a hot headed s.o.b... but if i get egged on during a dispute that i dont feel i was treated fairly and you want me to turn the cheek, that wont happen. i feel there is alot of laziness in america in general that the economy could do without aside from big businesses that look at us and say, they wont do nothing about it so lets not worry about it.

almost every vehicle that was in production has spit stones off the tire and hit the side panels at some time. thus the invention of mud flaps.is the nature of a vehicle....on this specific car,the HHR. the opening is too big for the position of the condensor and radiator.. yes you can fix that by putting mesh in or making something up, but if they would have put 1 to 2 pilars in the middle of the opening, this wouldnt be an issue.
that is why they put a sticker on the vehicle somewhere the tire size used. this lets you know that, hey i better not get some fat dubs on my whip because i dont want a new paint job. this would void a warranty....if they put a sticker on the car that said ,opening in airdam is bigger than normal,gm is not resposible for damages from debris, you may want to get a aftermarket protector for added safety. that would solve my case.......i gaurantee there is nobody out buying a car that checks for this. but i will now.. while i was out in my cement truck today i looked at every oncoming vehicle and studied it.....there were only afew models that had a big gap.but their radiator and condensor were up high. this is a manufacturing flaw that was overlooked from day one..... i didnt buy this car to look like a retro rider. i bought this car because it was cheap. that is why they came out with this line(cobalt,aveo,hhr,hummer3,etc...)it was stated that these are decent priced cars for this era of people. more affordable.. i wont overlook there flaw because i want to bring back the classic look.it is a sweet car, but i wont substitute that for dependabilty.

that is what i was trying to get my wife to check on because she says it will raise it. i dont know because i never claimed anything before.....i wish i could of helped you on the hail storm damage. my brother in law does the paintless dent removal and would of given you a kickback of some sort for using his business. he chases hail storms so he was probably in the area.

well, well, well. this goes out to all the "nay" sayers.......

my wife received a phone call from the dealership and they say they are gonna cover the warranty. the gm rep. did go and talk to the designer of the hhr and discussed my problem. it so happened that the designer was aware that this could happen and on the new 08 models, they will have a grill insert to protect the condenser and radiator. when my wife talked to the rep. the day they turned her down, he did say if they change the design in anyway that it will be covered. he followed thru, how about that.

so for all of you who say it is just a road hazzard and told me to calm down.
i hope you see that persistence and playing the right keys can pay off. they didnt say that it will be a recall but im sure if something happens to your vehicle in that area, the warranty will cover it now. the work hasnt been done yet because they have to order the part but it will be done by the weekend. also, when they insert is in production and available the dealer said he will contact us to install a factory insert. i have put a mesh type grill in for the time being though. i guess they say the newer one will have the option for the 6 cylinder, probably the SS.
