Thread necro!

Butyl patch affects the passenger side.

After a few days of flooding, heavy rain, Herman has a soaked driver's side carpet, squishy wet in front, and damp in the back. Firewall and the carpet foam are dry above foot level, but I soaked out half a gallon of water from the floor under the carpet.
I currently have the carpet propped up, and a big fan angled down toward it. Between that and the now dry outside air, I'm hoping to have it dry by dark... or at least less damp.

I do suspect the sunroof, as I know it has a small leak. I've been relying on the drain to keep bad things from happening, as I'm not sure the car is worth what a sunroof repair would cost. I've done some wrenching, but I'm no mechanic.
There is a wear spot with a tear on the lower weatherstrip, too. I'm not sure whether that would be enough to cause the amount of water I found, but I'm pretty sure I can handle replacing that just fine.
I'll try some weed whacker line to check the sunroof drain, too.

No more sunroofs for me.

Sunroof’s are fine, they do require maintenance, like flushing the dirt out of the tracks and drains

I suppose. I'm just venting some frustration. I still have a list of things I need to do, and this just adds to it.

Nature of the beast, I suppose.
