Try a different dealership???
Correct, the front is not a "lighter only" socket.

I didn't see this guy when I took Violet back in on Monday and the guy I did see, didn't even bat an eyelash at me about it. Of course he may not have actually read what I wrote down because he didn't specify on the workorder that it was the one on the dash console, not the one at the back of the center console. We'll see.

Has anyone replaced the socket in the back? Mine dont work and its not a fuse blown. The front one Blows a fuse everytime I plug my portable oxygen machine in it. Any Ideas why ? The machine dont blow fuses in other cars..... I think the one in the back burnt out.

It may be that your ox machine is too much of an amp draw, hhr sockets are rated for 15 amp IIRC ....

How much draw is your machine ?

This was at a chevy dealer? Did you make mention of this to the service manager? perhaps tell him the service advisor is mildly r-tarded? The guy is plainly an idiot and needs a different job anyway.

......... it's a four and a half year old post, so don't expect an answer anytime soon.

No smoking in my car but I bought a lighter at the auto parts store to plug in to this socket in case I ever need to start a fire or something!

P.S. I routinely charge my cell phone here & also plug my GPS into this socket. Clearly this is a multi-function socket & clearly the guy you had to deal with was a tool!
