Looking for the next step

I've worked with my dealer on trying to get my HHR SS fixe for the past year. I've given them every chance to help me fix it, but they always say they can't find anything wrong with it. They say unless I can bring them the car as soon as the check engine light comes on and keep the car running the entire time they can't read the codes. This has to happen when their tech who specializes in the SS is in shop. Needless to say this has proven to be difficult. The few times I'm able to drop everything and drive straight there the tech hasn't been available. I'm at a loss now. I wish I had never bought the car, but I fear I'm stuck with a GM receritified lemon at this point that I'm scared to drive.

Try another Dealers service dept? Explain to the service manager how you would like them to help you!

What is happening? Just check engine light?

They're full of bull. The code is stored for some time after the light goes out. In fact, it can store a code even before it sets the light. What is wrong with it? other then CE light.

Violent surging. Sometimes the turbo will just shut off for up to 30 minutes at a time. It's not the best feeling to merge into traffic and not know if you will have 100 hp or close to 300. Since they installed the Stage 1 kit I've been told another dealership would honor the warranty on the parts but not the install.

That's crap. If it's GMPP, shouldn't it still have 100% coverage because it's GM parts, GM install, GM techs that did it?

So the check engine does set. Does it reset every time the ignition is cycled?

That's part of the problem. It'll act bad all week but randomly throw a CEL. The CEL will stay on for a couple days, but the GM dealer is saying once I turn it off they can't get the details they need to fix the issues.

Do you have your own code scanner? Do you know what code is set?
