Low power around 2000 rpm
Hello everyone. I just recently purchased a used 2008 2LT with 97,000 miles and I have an odd issue. When taking off from a stop with light throttle, the engine acts like it has no power once it reaches about 2000 rpm if i keep the throttle at the same light amount. If I press the pedal quite a bit more it will take right off but it's like it has a dead spot in the power at 2000 rpm. No codes or lights on the dash. Is this normal for the 2.4?

Welcome to the site!
First up check that the MAF sensor is plugged in, look for the connection on the air filter box side of the rubber elbow by the throttle body.
If that is connected then it could be a dirty MAF sensor
It could also be a dirty throttle body.
Let's start with the connection I first suggested

It takes off just fine if you want to with more pedal, but I notice the "dead spot" in power like when in traffic in town and lightly accelerating in between lights. I just did plugs and a new air filter as they were still original. Cleaned the MAF already and everything is connected. It's not a big problem and it has plenty of power if I mash the gas I was just wondering if that is a normal thing for these 2.4s or if there is something I could do to fix it.

"no codes or lights on the dash"
Did you pull the codes or are you just saying nothing is appearing on the DIC readout ?
If you didn't pull the codes with a code reader, you should do so. Some codes don't always trigger a CEL(check engine light) but can still be stored in the computer as pending or such.
