Need a bit more info from you. Is the "lunging" when you're coming to a stop, like a pulsing sensation, or is the engine idle speed "loping" and jumping up and down by a few hundred rpm?

Mine's done it since day one. At a stop with foot on brake pedal, it feels like the car wants to surge forward. Goes from a subtle rocking to a pronounced jolt. I believe it's a part of the problem with the T.A.P. dealio in the ECM and my 'bucking' and tach bounce at 30 mph. There's a post about resetting the values and it's a 30k or so mile cure. I cant get the dealer to do it. Mine's an 08 2LT.

Mine's also done this from day one. Took it to the dealer when under warranty, they could duplicate it but not consistently and since there were no codes they couldn't do anything. What happened to troubleshooting. Without a code they can't fix anything these days. Anyway I'm at 75k now and its just something we've had to live with.

We need to start a Club Doc.

Doc supposedly, when they reset the TAP with the scantool it cures the problem for 20 - 30k while the car relearns. There's a post here about it that someone had it done and it fixed the problem. My local joke of a dealership says the same thing, no code, no can fix. Very VERY frustrating. My car's been in the shop 2 times under the factory warranty - Then again as part of a list of things under the extended. They were going to charge a fortune to do simple work, It didnt matter that it had been in before. They were great at conveying they didnt give a rats ass. Before I did something to end up in jail for, I took my keys, sailed the repair 'hat' off my car and wadded up the paper floor mat and left.

Ive conceded, I dont want to hassle it anymore - driving it as is until it breaks.

Mine has done the idle surge since I bought it almost two years ago. I think if you replaced the throttle sensor/actuator assembly it would probably fix it. What seems to be happening is the car's computer gets a bad signal from the throttle position sensor and loses track of where the plate location is for 1-2 seconds and then it is okay, at least that is what mine does. It is annoying but not long enough of a fault to set a code hence why the dealership won't do anything.

3 trips in for the same thing. Not opening my wallet - I'll sell it first.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear HipHotRod,

Please, forgive my lack of memory and opening a can of worms about your HHR. I thought we had opened a case for you about this.

I honestly and completely understand your frustration and anger about the whole thing.

Sincerely,

YAY! - My frustration and anger are understood! - I feel a whole lot better now. Thanks.
