Mepzor-Front corner buzzing.

Hello,I have a 2007 LS 2.2 with 125,000 pretty care free miles on the clock. I am getting a buzzing noise at hi way speeds that seems to be coming from the left front that is quite loud. I shifted into neutral at 55 and the noise is still there so probably not drive train related.any suggestions? Ps I replaced the right brake rotor about 2 months ago.

Based on your description, it sounds like your hub is failing on that corner.

HHR's have some issues with hubs wearing out, and here's a nifty "How To" thread on replacing them yourself if you're so inclined.

Just click the link below.....

P.S. to the forum!

I agree from you description it sounds like a wheel bearing making noise. A dignoitc trick to help confirm its a wheel bearing is when at cursing speed steer to the left then right ( small amounts) if the noise changes or go's away as the front end is loaded in one direction or the other you can pretty much bet its a front wheel bearing.

Front bearing replacement

Do you have to replace the hub when replacing front wheel bearings?

HUB/Bearing, they are the same thing on an HHR.

Another thought - it might be the warning that the brake pads are down to their limit (whatever that little piece of metal is called that rubs on the rotor when the pads are well worn).

"Wear indicator" is the word(s) you are searching for...
