I find it difficult to believe that 1 wire in the harness got itself broken.
You are looking at the plug wrong.
in post #18 the pic is of the PLUG pins facing you.
You are looking for the PINK/BLACK wire on pin #55

I would check for continuity of the PINK/BLACK wire from the LATCH (not the touch pad) to the BCM. And check with a multimeter if the switch in the LATCH is working. The entire wiring diagram is posted earlier, look at it again. Note there is a switch in the latch and in the touchpad.
