Minor problem with my new used HHR- rear wiper not working

Went through a few squalls on my way home with our new baby. I could not get the rear wiper to function. It would spray fluid but no movement. I'll check the fuse later...

Welcome to the site. I never use them, they way our trucklets vacuum the dirt off the road and deposit it on the tail. Turning the wiper on with that mess left scratches that took me a good long while to buff out. When my panel is loaded for work there is no back window, so it's no big deal in the SS either.

welcome again

If you need to remove the panel on the inside of the rear hatch, here is a little tutorial on how to do it: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...ht=hatch+panel

That's kinda funny. Next Month we'll have had our HHR for 8 Years. Have never used the rear wiper at all. Really wish it wasn't there actually!

Its a good thing your rear window scratcher is not working . Remove it and put a rear view camera in the hole

Considering how much rain we've had back home in NC, he just might need the "rear window scratcher" from time to time. If you haven't checked already chroma, its fuse #20 in the under-hood fuse box.

Also, make sure it's not physically stuck to the glass. If it hasn't been used for years, it's a possibility. Just lift it up off the glass to verify.

I have had power windows stick in place in the past, and, after tearing the door apart, discovered the weatherstrip was just stuck to the glass.

Could also be the switch.

I know I use mine and after 8 years, no scratches on the back glass. You do knot your supposed to only use it on wet glass right......
