Mirror Whistling

Driver side mirror starts whistling over 40 mph. If I put just my finger over the upper right corner it stops? Anyone had this problem and know of a solution? And no I can't keep my hand there its getting colder outside .

I think if you go through the forums, you'll find a couple of people had their mirrors replaced (warranty) because of wind noise and whistling.

i was one of those people. take it in and tell them the mirror is whistling at 40 mph and above and you should get a new one with no questions asked. Mine was doing it from 25 and up. My stain chrome peice was loose, i think the tabs broke or something, that is what was causing my noise. no if i could only get the passenger side to do it as well so i could have new mirrors on both sides.

If I could get my mirrors to whistle for me, I could save on Chapstick!

Mine whistle too but it doesn't bother me all that much. Didn't realize people had a real problem with it.

Okay, I replaced my 2007 chrome mirror caps with the black 2006 style caps. I noticed when I removed the chrome caps, that on the top clips they had a piece of 3m tape/foam on each one, whereas the black caps didnt. I just wonder if this was GM's fix for the whistleing to make that clip hold firmer for 2007, just as you putting your finger on the same top area. You could allways pull the caps off and try it.

I took mine to the dealer and they are replacing the mirror. Problem is they have ordered it twice and got the wrong one both times. Hopefully the right one will come in this week. I will let you know.

If you tilt the mirror just right does it start to whistle show tunes? Hope they get the right mirror in for ya I know I had issues with my truck mirrors doing that drove me nuts on long drives.
