I use standard. The battery management system makes the batteries last. I replaced an original after 10-11 years and it was fine but Winter was coming and my wife drives it.

Everyone has their favorites. Any decent 90/T5 will do. Be sure to connect the vent. I like the Duracell at Sam’s Club because it comes with the vent elbow taped to it.

Now if you come back with the same d### codes at least you’ll know it’s not the battery.

The_shmoo just replaced his battery in his 2006 purchased in the fall of 2005, almost 17 years on the OEM battery!
I install the AC Delco battery, last a lot longer then aftermarket!

What? Did it sit for 10 of those years?

Nope he just drives it sparingly, he might have a battery tender hooked up, but still no dead cell or other problem.

In Oldblue, first OEM AC Delco dead at 5 years, AAA battery installed, it died at 6 years I sold that at 12 years old.

In the BlackSwan OEM AC Delco dead at 8 years, I installed AC Delco and it still going strong, car is 11 years old.

That’s what I want to do but i don’t think the AC Delcos I find are the same as the OEMs.

Wow. Nine years was best I ever seen. I heard of 11 but nothing longer than that.

I’ll price one at my local dealer just for fun, expecting sticker shock.
