My Baby is Going in Today!

My BF just dropped me off at work and is on his way to the dealer with my one year old 2.2. I'm a little nervous. This is my first brand new car and I feel like a parent dropping off my baby at daycare for the first time. lol

The list:
  • Auto Start acting up*
  • Brakes Squeeling @ 17,000 miles
  • Loud Air Conditioner*
  • Tranny shifting at random RPM's
  • A knocking with the front tire*
  • Passenger Air Bag Cover

(* = found TSB's on the forums )

My BF used to work in an auto center so I know he'll get in good with the service writer and explain everything better that I ever could! Hopefully I get her back today!

i forgot how much service writers hate warranty work haha but he told me they'd check everything, i gave him all the bulletin numbers. i don't have 100% confidence, as i've not been to this dealer before, and the service writer who wrote the W/O spells like a 2nd grader. any how, we'll let ya know what happens.

p.s. anyone else had squeeky brakes? we've got just shy of 18k on the car and when they get mildly warm they squeek like the wear indicator is going off. the service writer tried to tell me his car squeeks every morning, but i don't believe it for a second. there are such things as defects and premature wear haha.

Thumbs down William L Morris didn't seem to care!

Ok well - Got the kid back from the dealer and I am really unhappy with the dealership. I understand that's it's warranty work but for goodness sakes THIS IS A BRAND NEW MODEL!! I honestly don't even think they even looked at the car. The service writer was very unhelpful and seemed annoyed by the car's existence in their service center. OYE!!

Here is the low down:

The tranny and the random rpm shifting; they were unable to dublicate the problem and therefore nothing is wrong. ARGH # 1

The squeeky brakes when warmed up; unable to duplicate the problem therefore nothing is wrong. ARGH # 2

The airbag cover on passenger side; I guess someone else had the same complaint and they had it looked at by GM rep at that time. The cover is not defective threfore GM is not going to replace it. PLEASE if you have this problem on your HHR. PLEASE take it in to the dealer and complain, and call 800-222-1020 and report the problem. 3 out of the 6 HHR's on the lot had the same issue so it's a great tool to use against the service writer in trying to prove the problem. GM is not going to address this unless we as owners are yelping about it. I will post this again in the other thread going for it already. ARGH # 3&4 because it deserves 2 arghs

Growling Air Conditioner; they ordered the parts and will let me know when they are in. - ok I can live with that.

Knocking on front driver tire (I had a TSB on it); unable to duplicate the problem and therefore doesn't exist. Argh # 5

Auto Start Intermitent Lights: GM knows the problem exists but do not have a fix for the software. Argh # 6

Auto Start Shut off Immediately after starting the car (Had TSB for this one as well!!) they were unable to replicate the problem (EVEN THOUGH I SAID IT WAS INTERMITENTLY) and therefore it doesn't exist. Argh #'s 7-10

Needless to say I was really unsatified with William L Morris of Simi Valley. When the parts come in for the air conditioner I will give them the same list of problems again.

I understand how you feel. i got mine the 1st of June. was so happy i went on a trip from Okla to VA to see my daughter, the day after i get there my AC starts acting up blowing hot air i was scared to death didnt know how i would drive 2000 miles in the heat after reseting it worked and i made it home took it to the dealers who had it for a week and could not get it to do it again. a couple weeks later it did it again so they put a new switch on it said problem resolved even though they never got it to do it again well didnt stop it. then took in an artical about loose fuses and sure enough all mine were loose so they said that fixed it, picked it up Thrusday and today when i brake the front end shakes. their comment was hey we can see this one so we can fix it. needless to say i am unhappy about 5 trips and still driving loaners.

Keep on them and keep reporting the same problems. Do not let them just ignore it.
