Hi Betty,

Some dealers service departments are difficult to deal with. I have a new 2LT that developed the 'growling' AC issue while I had it on a test drive over a weekend. I provided my delaer with a print of the TSB and even before I purchased, they ordered the parts. The only problem was that they only looked up the origional TSB, not the updated one with the additional clip that came out before it wen in for the fix (which worked well!). Before I could take it in (but after it was mine:)) the remote start issue cropped up.

I was insistant that they apply both the A/C TSB as well as re-flashing the computer to fix the autostart issue and they did so - as well as providing me a rent car for a week while waiting for the clip for the new A/C tubing 'cause the did not check fro the updated TSB!

If you dealer has not had many HHRs sold thru it, they will be ignorant. You must educate then, be insistant with them, and demand your rights. Tell them what you want done - it is warranty work and they will be paid by GM. If not, call the district office and complain like hell as well as go to a new dealer. You do not have th have your HHR serviced by the dealer you porchased it from!

The HRR is a GREAT car and even my pickie wife wants one now!

When I was on the phone with Chevy today they said I should not of had the TSB's much less take them to the dealer. They were pretty insistant about finding out where I got them in the first place. I didn't say out of fear of the site getting trouble "I found them online" is all I said.

They also advised that it might have looked to the dealer like I was pining for repairs that were not needed because I had found them.

Sounds to me like someone's playing coy...

TSB's have been available on line for years upon years upon years...

Why would the service people be upset by a customer identifying a KNOWN problem with a KNOWN fix? Duh... it only makes their job that much easier.

Am I missing something here?

i wouldn't. i've seen it happen on much much larger forums (250,000+) and its never good. they can get the site shut down just for using "HHR" and/or "Chevy" trademark infringement or what have you.

That is kind of strange as there are several sources for TSB's, believe it or not my Dealer researched some for me and let me look at them. I also took it in with a TSB from here for the stearing clunk (intermediate shaft) and the service rep thanked me and proceeded to check to make sure there were no updates or revisions to the TSB printout I gave him. They then ordered the parts and fixed the problem. This is all about customer service and if Chevy thinks , as others here have said, that they can just shut down a site like this one and continue on then they have missed the point all together and will lose their support base. I for one would never buy another Chevy if they did something like that, legal or otherwise.
