Actually, I think, under the warranty procedure the old part belongs to GM, IF THEY REQUEST IT. There is a TSB on that also.

 

Check it out. I was able to look it up, except for being for a 2005 Cobalt, BUT it is the 2.2L L61 engine-- should be same part:

My goodness, that thing looks like a leak fixin` to happen.
The piping for my intercooler (on my van) was less complicated.

 

You have an intercooler on.... a van? That means you got a turbo or a blower on... a van?

 

Yep, 1989 Dodge Caravan Turbo. Still running, 273,000 mi.

 

273,000 on a mopar. I am impressed. That is excellent. It looks exceptional in appearance as well.

No, haven't looked for a TSB on that repair specifically.

I was referring to a TSB regarding warranty repairs. It reminds the dealers if the repair is done as a warranty, the part, as well as all the history of the vehicle, may be requested as a package....to be sent to Chevrolet Division.

 

When we got the Beautiful One, the van was put on the street, and my son`s 2002 Regal has the other space in the garage, so it`s not as shiney after almost two years of salt and weather, but it still runs.
I`ll drive it to work tommorow, weekends the wife gets the B-One.

Gaskets get torn, surfaces get marred, it's called an assembly line. Sometimes you just gotta get stuff like this done. It doesn't mean that all of the 200,000 odd HHR's out there are going to have this problem, just one guy who's posted it on the internet so far.
