Unhappy National back order on SS front struts ?

Hi all,

Got my SS back today after being at chevy for 12 days. I gave them a list of things that needed to be fixed, Mostly rattles. The biggest one being the front squeeky rusty cold weather sqreeching sound when hitting dips in the road that some of us have experianced. They concluded both front struts were leaking, and were only able to get one, it sat there a week before they decided to give it back to me with one new and one bad. He said 1-2 weeks to get another strut because of a national backorder.

In the 12 days i had the loaner (2009 hhr lt) , I put 700 miles on it.
Will putting 700 or 800 miles on the new strut hurt it because of the bad strut ? They gave me the SS back because 12 days ago they were out of loaners and took me to enterprise with a rent a car voucher , Total bill for 12 days - $500 On GM. Stupid, Even the service mgr. said he should'nt have ripped it down till he had the parts. (no kidding)
But i was able to drive an auto HHR durring the worst weather we've had all year. Quite abit easier to drive in 10" of snow, than a stick SS.

Anyway , Check your struts . My SS has 36,700 Miles today, And i think they have been bad for a while.

Sure is nice to have her back, even if she's not a 100%. I missed her bad.

My front left has been gone for awhile....mechanics at the dealer I take it to can't seem to notice the clunking sound....going back in soon, again. Have to replace a key fob-never worked and engine light and tire sensor coming on.....only 8k miles. I got a lemon...too bad no lemon laws in Canada

Oh yeah, but they do offer that 90 day return policy now....what a farse...if you can't make a new car that is still decent after 90 days...start making lawnmowers

My SS reminds me of a freind that has a nice bmw. A new one every couple of years. He gets rid of it within a thousand miles of his bumper to bumper expiring, because he knows it will start killing him in repairs.
To replace the things that have been replaced under warranty again in the next 36,000 miles would be crazy. To bad about the low value in resale for me , Him ,Not so much (borat)

I tried ordering new FE5 struts today and once again, they are on national backorder. Just the front right is on backorder, but what good is one without the other?
