Need help ASAP

While pulling into my apartment complex about an hour ago I heard this loud noise coming from the passenger front wheel area. It almost sounds like when a tire is rubbing a fender and a slight popping but the tires no where near it, I still have the stock tires and rims. I looked underneath and theres nothing visible wrong. Im suppose to be going on a trip, this starting noon tomorrow, with it and dont feel comfortable driving it 500ish miles round trip with it making noises. Any one else experiencing this? I guess I could take my other car but is a 91 miata, I trust it to make it there with no problems just theres not much room in it. Any help would be great other wise I guess I will just call onstar and have them tow it.

That sucks. My guess might be a wheel bearing?? The odd thing is that wheel bearing use to last 80k to 100k+ miles. but now they are made cheap. I have a 2003 Chevy truck I've replaced the bearings two times already. the first time with only 9k miles. Also had the same bearing problem with my wifes Chevy Impala. But Im only guessing.. Good luck

I would be on the doorstep of the dealer tomorrow am early. Let them know you are in a panic situation as you were just getting ready to leave for a trip and see if they can quickly fix it or offer you a loaner car.

Good luck.

Does/has the noise repeat itself? Does it drive or sound funny now? A bearing/output shaft failure usually is the consistent clunk and/or a clicking or grinding. Look underneath and see if there is anything apparent thats not right.

Hey Eli,

Not to Burst Any Bubble but if It's Lowered Hopefully the Dealer Doesn't Make an Issue of It ! Good Luck with Whatever the Problem Ends Up Being and Have a Safe Trip !

How about slush/ice in the wheels.....on the suspension, etc. As someone else has asked,.....has it made that particular noise more than once or twice.
