Need help on changing transmission fluid in a 2006 Chevy HHR Please and Thank you!
My husband has been looking on all types of sites to learn how to change the transmission fluid in our 2006 HHR. Does anyone know where I can find out how to do this? All help would be appreciated.

If it's an automatic, you let it cool, drop the pan, change the filter and seals, reassemble and fill.
If it's a manual, you change the fluid at operating temperature. There is a drain plug and a check/fill plug. You remove them, draining the fluid. Then you replace the drain plug, refill, and replace the check/fill plug.
In both cases, drive it a bit and recheck level. Details are in the repair manual(Chilton, Haynes, etc.) available at auto parts stores or online.

I moved the thread because it is not a "how-to".
I know that I wrote a how-to, but I can't find it.
Here is one I found by typing "fluid change" into the search box.

Along with 10 other pages of similar results.
The IMPORTANT part of the job is that the bolts need to be torqued to 106 Lb INCH, That is not lb ft. Done too tight you will ruin the pan and have a leak.
