Need third brake light access

It might be simple to some, but just having purchased the car I have not been able to "pop off" the center plastic rear panel that allows access to the third brake light bulbs. I can lower it enough to see the tops of two metal clips but haven't been able to do anything with a flat screw driver. Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch. Good how to pics. Looks like the four clips are on the bottom.

I just took mine off the other day to replace a broken washer nozzle. It took me awhile to get it, but it finally came off. If I remember right, after you get the edges pryed up to grab hold of it, it takes a quick yank, straight back towards you.

So I would grab hold of it from the bottom, after working it outward?

If I remember right, there about 4 clips on it. I think there is one on each side, plus two more towards the center. I think there are couple of plastic alignment pins on it as well. I took a flat screwdriver to get the clips started, before I pulled on it. I grabbed ahold of it from the top and bottom, then gave it a quick yank, straight back towards me.

The plastic/metal clips look pretty fragile, and can bend easily, so be careful with it.

I had mine off a few months ago and don't remember there being any issue whatsoever. I do recall there being some small issue putting it back on.

Thank you all for your contributions. Right now I've got a small family matter to attend to, then I'll follow the advise. Appreciate it!
