Need your help for info! GM is saying no new harness till OCT!
So as I said a week ago, the pin in the wiring harness broke when the dealership was adding the aux brake pump. Thursday was a week, well the dealership left me a message saying that gm said they have to make the wiring harness and it wont be until Oct. He said they told gm that is not gonna fly. Not sure if everything the dealer is telling me is right, but that is what they are saying Oct.
So I am going to call tonight and leave a message at the dealer, as they are closed, and ask for the distric managers #. Does anyone have the number for GM customer service or whomever I should contact. I know it is posted somewhere but I dont have a minute to look. Also is there anything the dealer or gm can/should do for me. I know Idont want to make 2-3 payments (at more then double what I owe) and have no car to show for the payments. Also is there a way to look online for the distric managers number so I can call before monday. This is my first new car (only 24) and hopefully have many years of new car buying and as much as I love GM and Chevy this is not going to help them sell me cars in the future. I am sure someone here can help guide me in the right direction to resolve this asap. Also if It takes 2-3 months to get my car back is it unreasonable to demand that they extend my warrenties by at least what they have the car for or even 6+ months. Thanks guys as you are always a big help and sorry for the long post

Ask the dealer if they have a spac case on the part. If they do then ask them if they ran it on D2D Link and called the dealers that show to have it and if they can sell it to Sprint. Now if there are no dealers and it is on a spac case they can call SPAC and request it to SWAT and that is as high as it can go. The districts managers can not help anymore like they did in the past the dealership has to do all the leg work to get it done amd sadly alot will not make the effort. HTH. Jason

I thought that if they couldn't get parts to fix in timely fashion, they would put you in a rental or dealer courtesy car. I know that you need to keep calling and don't take no for an answer. Demand more than you want and let them come up. If you can't get it resolved tell them you will call your local TV station that has a consumer affairs reporter. Bad publicity right now isn't good. Just be calm and don't get frustrated. Good Luck.

Ya i got a rental too, a cobalt ls w/ nothing. No power anything no cruise. I can live w/o the sunroof and usb and turbo. The told me they are going to try and get me something better. Well the last message I left I said they need to get me cruise and power locks. I am going out of town next weekend and need cruise for a 3 hr trip. Cobalt drives nice, but is the first car I have driven w/o power mirrors or locks.
I found the gm 800 number in the book. Thanks who ever pointed that out, and will be calling tomorrow. Going to demand they take one off of a hhr ss some where whether on a dealer lot or the mexican plant instead of "creating" one. Honestly I am paying 1k$ a month on this thing so it is paid of asap and can't imagine paying it w/ no car to drive till the "end of october." absurd. Will hopefully get this resolved asap. Otherwise the new camaro I am looking at buying in 2-3 yrs might become a cooper clubman s. Just want my baby back

Personally like others have said I would not except there time frame and tell them that 6 to 8 weeks is totally unacceptable, period! I would deal with the Dealerships Manager and work him from there! If it's going to be that long ask them what they are willing to do for your inconveinence! Usually they want to make the customer happy! I noticed you plan on installing a Stage 1 Kit! Maybe they'll do the install at no charge for the inconveinence! Worth a try!
I had a 04' Colorado Transmission fail at 22 Miles ! For my inconveinence I negotiated a New Tranny, 100,000 Mile Extended Warantey and a Spray In Bed Liner! In general dealerships want your repeat business and have the ability to work in a perk or two! You just need to consult the right person! No calls, make the appearence!
Good Luck ,

There should be no real effort needed on your part. I would tell the dealer in a very pleasant manner that if they don't fix the car within 30 days (minus any time it has already been at the dealer for warranty work) that they will simply have to buy the car back from you, or replace it. This is per your state's lemon law.

Good luck. I'm sure they'll find a way to fix it faster when you mention your rights.

I was one of the first to have the pin isssue after the harness was installed on my SS.
It kept throwing a code for low voltage but ran fine.
The dealer figured out what it was and at the time the part in the harness they needed did not have a part number. To not have a part number for the part made it very diffficult to order. They ended up getting the higher up manager [not sure of offical title] of the part district here to get the needed part from the supplier direct. It took near two weeks just to get a part that took less than an hour to fix.
I think the issue on this part is it is something that seldom or never needs replaced. {how often do you replace a wire harness connector?}. So it never really was put into the system for just the small part.
With the removal of the fuse box under the hood to put in the vaccume pump this is causing the pin to be damaged and has made it a needed part. The system just has never caught up to put apart number or stock into inventory.
THis is what I know based on what I was told on mine last winter. My service manager was not happy with GM at the time.
At this point I do not know if they have a part number assigned to this part yet or if they even stock it in the system.
Either way to fix your issue the dealer needs to go to someone higher in the supply chain that can get it from the maker of the part. It can be done as they did it for mine. For a while I was looking at a lot longer time than two weeks till they found a way to get the needed part.
They did not like having my SS sitting in the shop taking up needed space either.
I would see if the small pin you need has a part number. It sounds as if it is same thing I needed. It is part of the harness but you don't need or want the entire harness. It no part number that is the same issue.
By the way if you want the stage kit now is the time to do it with the pump install. It is a lot easier to do it now.
