Need your help for info! GM is saying now harness till OCT!

Yes you are correct. SPAC case is the highest priority a dealer can give a part so they will know what it means. After that they have to wait 48 hrs for GM to try on there own then they got to do the leg work. The can call the SPAC department at GM and tell them the car is down and possible buy back and they will take it from there and send it to SWAT who has the power to pull parts from the line or directly from the vendor. The dealer can also run the number on the D2D link to try and fine a dealer to sprint the part to them (only if they have it on a SPAC case) BTW The D2D link is a national dealer locator for parts.
Now this does happen and makes it hard to get the item I would hope they have the part number set up. With a item like this I would think they would by now. It sounds like your dealer did what they needed to do to get the part for you it probly was pulled from production or direct from vendor.

The part number for the pin was the real issue. No part number, no stock, no way to order. Once they got the clearance to get it brought in from the vendor it took only a day or so to get it. THe problem was getting GM to get the part direct.
I think you might want to define the terms for some of the people. D2D is Dealer to Dealer etc. You and I may understand but the are not common terms for most.

As far as no part number. They said they are trying to get a new wiring harness so I would think that has part #. It sounds at least to me that they want the whole harness and are skipping pin only thing. But gm said they have to "create" one and that won't be till the "end of october" GM doesn't create these, another company does

Well I can pick up my car tomorrow morning. Apperently they are going to run a specific circuit out of the harness/ a dedicated line. Not sure, said it will be fine to drive as normal and w/ no worries. Then when the new harness comes in it they will replace it. So after a week and a half I will have it back, even if it is just a temp fix for now.
