New control arms

Hubby replaced the front control arms on our HHR. The bushings were trashed and just doing the whole control arm was less headache and time than trying to get the bushings out, blah, blah.

Anyways, now we have a set of HHR control arms that need new bushings, but all the metal seems intact. Is this a part repair places commonly rebuild? Seems like there has to be a better place for them to go than the trash can!

I have not seen any rebuilt control arms out there it seems that everyone sells new control arms without a core charge.
So I don't know that anyone would want them.

You could always have new bushing installed in your old control arms and have a spare set for future use.

Aluminum recycling pays fairly well. Beer cans get around $.49 a lb.

You can buy new bushings for about $10 each, and have them put into the arms for maybe $10-20 for the pair (or free if you do it yourself) - then sell them for maybe $60-$80 for the pair in the buy and sell.

Mine will end up being yard art most likely. :)
