If that's the case...there could be something wrong with the key fob. Try the spare key and see if that one works. If it does, I'd take to other one to the dealer and have them take a look at it or replace it. It could even be as simple as replacing the battery...but I wouldn't think that should need to be done already though. If neither one works, then there is something obviously amiss that the dealer will need to repair. Please keep us posted.

turn signals

When i test drove an HHR back in March, I noticed the turn signlas were very loud. I then ordered my HHR. When it came in and i accepted delivery of it...the turn signals were not as loud. I wondered why it wasn't, but liked it not being so loud. JAYRAS - you said it goes through the radio? I'm not sure i understand how it does that.

The HHR uses a special (i.e. = "new") GM LAN connetion for many features like the DIC, chimes, turnsignals, lights on, key in ignition buzzers, etc. This connection runs audio signals through the stock radio speakers. You can install an aftermarket stereo and "disconnect" all the bells, whistles, etc - or even stop them yourself by cutting the appropriate wire in the harness. Everything will continue to work properly - wuth the exception of the actual audible sound of the buzzers, clickers, and bells.

Hope it helps,

Hidden Hitch/Drawtite make a 1-1/4" hitch for the HHR. The Hidden Hitch part number is 60815, don't have the paperwork handy for the Drawtite number. I bought an XPORT rack from Performance bike. Nice rack and it has the ability to tilt down with bikes loaded to be able to get in to the rear hatch. If you have small frame bikes, I would recommend the two post version and not the single post style.

I can post pics if needed

PS the HHR is rated for 100lbs tongue weight / 1000lbs trailer weight. The hitch is rated for 200 tongue / 2000 trailer.

The one in my photo is from U-Haul. They installed it and wiring. Tows about 1000 lbs. Go ahead and tow 2 Wave Runners, Jet Skis!
