New HHR's 1st oil change: Done
@ 1000 miles. 5 qts Mobil Clean 5000 and one Hengst... er... I mean AC/Delco filter (AC/Delco PF457G is a Hengst unit)
Hengst is a German company, I think they make a lot of OEM (?) stuff for Mercedes. Here's the company line on their oil fitlers:
http://www.hengst.de/conpresso/en_au..._oil/index.php
The Mobil Clean 5000 will stay in only 3000 miles. After next oil change with either Mobil Clean 7500 synthetic blend or Mobil 1 full synthetic I will begin following the DIC Oil Life Monitor for OCI (Oil Change Interval) from then on.
Want to run the first few thousand miles on a good regular Group II conventional oil.

Nice and easy to change eh? Sounds similar to my plan..changed out at 1100, 4000 and next change with Castrol GTX in the sump will be at 7000. After that I may go to synth or clean out the boatload of dino I have in my garage. Changes after that will be in the 5-6K range...oil analysis reports after that will give me an idea on how the oil is doing. If all looks good I'll follow the DIC for a change or so
Very clean and easy to change the oil on the HHR

Yep. I been geeking around in lurk mode on BITOG (my today's new user app pending admin review), thought I saw one of your posts w/ a pic of Valvoline bottle on your engine @ change time?
BITOG has me confused about what oil I want to go with for the next oil change after 3000 miles on this Mobil 5000 dino stuff are up.
When my new user acct is approved I think my first post on BITOG is going to be along the lines of who makes the Goodwrench GF4 oil that was (probably) factory fill on the Ecotec 2.2L.

Goose you got me wondering. You keep referring to a "boatload" of dino oil. Have you been collecting/storing any of it a long time. Just asking because, if you had some of it a long time it may not meet the GM6094M requirement.

I agree that it is easy and clean to change oil on hhr. Is a Admin Spam Link Edit compatible to hhr? I think the one that makes the filter for Mercedes also has filter for Chevy, right? I’m planning to try on my previous car’s spare filter but still anxious.

Anthony- First welcome! Secondly that filter does not look at all like the HHR's
Snoop....most if not all of my oil meets GF-4 requirements. The majority of it is Shell Formula and Havoline 5W30 that I got uber cheap. The listing that LR had up with the oils that meet GM6049 is gone but iirc those oils were on the list. Any chance we can get that back up LR?
LR- According to some users at BITOG the factory fill is Mobil. I'm sending out my sample of Valvoline to be analyzed and if it comes back with a higher amount of sodium than usual that will pretty much point towards a Mobil Factory fill.
