New key fob!

i don't know if this has been posted or not but Autozone now sells a programmable key fob for our cars. I just bought one this morning for $59.99 and it took all of 60 seconds to program. It comes with a programmer that plugs into the OBD II port. Works like a charm....doors and remote start all work like new!

They're not listed on the Autozone site yet but here's the manufacturer's link. If you look at the where to buy link several places show up just in the small town I live in.

It would have to be the Dorman 13736. It's available various places:

Now to find out if my theory about using the module to program other fobs is correct.

The three button I found at NAPA was $45.

I'm also wondering if the module will program other remotes. If it does it would be nice to have two that work.

That would be great if you could use this to program other remotes. I have a few laying around that will work with mine.

Usually what goes wrong on the fob is the keypad and maybe a solder joint on the battery holder. I bought two cases with batteries for my 2006 for $6.95 from Remotez4less on E-bay and fixed both of my remotes. That's less than two batteries cost locally. I also bought a pair for my truck There are many cases available in various colors too. I noticed that my local Ace hardware sells the cases too for around $10 each.

If you need the complete transmitter, they also have them or a locksmith should have them. I bought a Blazer that was equipped with keyless entry but no remote came with it. I bought one from the local locksmith for $30 and they programmed it.
