Just a quick update. I finally broke down and purchased the replacement Dorman fob. Took less than a minute to program it. While reading instructions I noticed the programmer is apparently only good for 3 uses.

That's my theory of the bad reviews you may see. Somebody uses all 3 then sends it back, the vendor then resells it. Or, people don't read the directions and screw up 3 times, using the programmer up.
