New owner, A/C vibration ?

Am new to this forum. I just bought my 06 HHR LT a couple weeks ago and am very happy with it. Only 33 K miles and very nice with all the bells and whistles. I live in South Florida and have noticed that when I turn on the A/C I get a vibration and the engine seems to run rougher. Is this normal.
I have 30 days of a warranty from the auto dealer and if it's something that needs to be looked at, would like to have it done now.
Thanks.

Mine has 16k miles and does vibrate at idle when I cut in the A/C compressor. It also costs me 2 mpg on the highway when I turn it on. However, it will flat run me out of the car with cold on a hot summer day, so it is well worth it. The HHR has the best heat and cold of any car I have ever seen, and the engine (and therefore heater) get up to temp at amazing speed. You just have to love that remote start and a cold or hot day too. :-) God Bless, Marc

I don't think that vibration is normal. My 2007 idles a bit differently with the AC on especially in very hot weather, but does not vibrate. In moderately warm weather the AC running is not noticable, when the temps get to and go over 100 degrees, I can feel an additional load, though it still runs well.

My brother has an '06 bought new and brought it back within a week for this problem. They replaced one of the a/c pipes to fix it.

In my '07 and '09, I can't tell when the a/c is on at all, except for the cool air.

Absolutely have it checked now.

With only 30 days, I'd suggest you give this HHR a good run & thorough inspection before your time runs out.

Better safe than sorry. $
