New Problem.

Well. Again. New problem. Driving normally and go to accelerate after slowing for a curve and nothing. Stop and put it in first and slowly lift the rpms and not an inch moved. I stop and apply ebrake and put in first gear no add of gas pedal and car doesn't stall. Check the clutch travel and its normal. ~2" for gear changes. Help?????

Setting the parking brake and seeing if the clutch will stall the engine is a standard test to see if the clutch is slipping/gone.
You usually do it in 3rd or 4th since those are the gears that a bad clutch will slip the most in, but since you're not getting any power down in first.....its probably clutch time.
You might have a bad slave cylinder, but it sure sounds like a toasted clutch to me.

True sleeper. But if Kev's car had a pressure plate that collapsed or it just completely failed, there would be no engagement. If so, then no slipping and no burning smell. From his description, it sounds like a pressure plate.( rare. But I've even seen pressure plate bolts sheer off other cars)

Kev. The clutch consists of the clutch disc and pressure plate when you get a clutch replaced. Best to also replace the slave cylinder(it's inside the bell housing of the trans. where the clutch is) and also have the flywheel resurfaced.
