new SS UBEC problem to ????
I went to pick up my new SS last saturday. I stop at Dunkin Donuts 10 min from the dealer. (who is 2hrs from home-got a great deal-or did I?) I can't get it started again, it just cranks. They give me something to drive home in. They tell me they fixed the UBEC. It was definately this because they could move things and get it to stall. It gets delivered today, I go out for a ride and it just dies in the middle of the road. Its just been towed to the local dealer. Now I am told it has no spark. I am well freaked now since this is brand new-how am I supposed to have any confidence in this vehicle now? I did enjoy it for the 15 mins I've driven it so far.

Did you finance through GMAC or another bank? Either way, I'd get on the phone with your lender and see if there's a way to drop the financing on the car and leave it at the dealer. Another option is to let them keep the car for 30 days and invoke the lemon law.

see post #4 for more UBEC info
I don't know if there was a chain reaction here and the UBEC problem could have cooked a computer bit. I didn't finance the thing. I'm not sure what to do, I'm going to see what they come back with I guess.

got it back yesterday-supposedly fixed-sounded like another connection issue in the reassembly of the ubec. Now I got a CEL on the way home. I've had this thing a week and a half and driven it about 5 miles-each ride brings new problems, at least I made it home this time. I really want to like this thing, but....

I hope its good now, I really do like this vehicle. I don't know if I can put up with anymore, but the people in service have been really good to deal with (for a change) and have really been trying to get it right so I'm trying to be patient.
