No crank no start

well I got the security lock to go off by turning the key and leaving it on for 30 minutes when I returned light without turn the key off turn it back on lights are still off. when I try to crank it and try to turn over but it sounded like the starter was just spinning so I'm going to have to investigate the starter a little bit more.

Sounds like either the starter, the ring gear on the flywheel/flexplate, or the timing chain.

Have you bothered to check the VOLTAGE of your battery? It has to be close to dead if it wasn't before.

theres no possible way that this is the timing chain and if the starter sheared the teeth off the flywheel, you’d still hear the starter turning when it gets power

Huh ? 85 what ? Saying the battery voltage is "fine" means nothing.
You should check the battery Voltage before trying to start it. Fully charged is around 12.7 volts. Anything lower than about 12.2 volts can cause problems.

No crank no start.

The battery was at 12.6 then we hooked it up to the start and the starter spun but it dropped the battery to 8.5 while it was spinning. I am thinking it is a bad starter.

Put load on the battery and then read voltage
