Smile No FOB, but need to lock tail gate/trunk

FOB is busted-daughter is using this car only for a short time before she trades in SO want to save money and not replace FOB. Have figured out how to manually lock everything except the trunk to prevent the beeping that occurs if you use the lock/unlock button. Tried using the lock/unlock button to lock trunk-that works until door is opened. Thoughts? TY

And then you lock it again when you put the car in gear or push the button again. The button on the driver door locks/unlocks all.

See page 106 in your Owner Manual (link in my sig).

Welcome to the site, I only know of the FOB method, the interior door lock switch will cause the alarm when you unlock with the key.

PG 106 instructions-I did that but when you use the power lock, then the car beeps every time you unlock it (without the fob)

Ok, thanks for confirming it doesn’t help your situation, that’s going to help someone later on.
The last time my remote battery died, I used the interior switch, the closed the door, then when I opened it with the key, the alarm sounded, a PITA.
I soldered they battery cage , cleaned the contacts and put in a new 2032 button battery, that fixed my issue.

That only happens with 2006-2007. I think the trick is to push the drivers plunger down then the lock all, or some combination like that.
