No problem HHR

No problem HHR
I bought a 2006 LS in September of last year, auto trans and 2.4 engine. So far, and except for a outside temp sensor, other than oil changes the car has never been back to the dealer. It has 15K miles on it and I drive it 80 miles RT each day for work and we mostly use the HHR on the weekends (I think it works better than my wife's 1.8t Q4 Audi). It starts first time every time, key FOB works just the way it should, never leaks, inside or out, and the brakes are still like new, no rotor problems. Long way of saying is this the norm or am I just lucky?
After reading the posts I get the feeling that the car should be falling apart by now. Was there a Mfg. date that after which all the "bugs" got worked out.

I'm sort of like you. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to schedule a trip to the service department after 20,000 miles, but it's only for cosmetic stuff. The cover of the mirror on the visor doesn't close properly, and I want the armrest fixed. I have been extremely pleased with mine. By the way, welcome to the forum.

Every model is going to have a few isolated bugs and issues. And the place to hear them is usually on an enthusiast internet forum. The vast vast vast majority are solid and problem free. Toyota's are praised as super reliable (over rated IMHO but that's another discussion) but go on a Toyota forum and you'll read problem reports, bugs, etc.

I bet we all wish we had your HHR. Although I wouldn't consider the three times Dory has been back excessive.

I've had mine for 18 months with 3 trips to the dealer, all for minor problems, and all were fixed the first time. I'm over 40,000 miles now and all is well. I'm knocking on my wooden desk as I type this

I have had 12 enjoyable months of ownership with no real problems of any consequence. All I have had done were the rotors ground down (which has been the case with every car I had save one), a TSB radio re-flash for reception which may not have even been needed and the armrest TSB fix. I thoroughly enjoy and love my HHR. Of the 10 or so new cars I have owned, this has been one of my best experiences in the first year of ownership.
