First post here. New red SS auto every option except ash tray. Picked it up Thusday night took it back Friday, Have a loud high pitched sound in right rear speaker. they say if they unhook the PAL the noise goes away. They have tried a filter on the radio that did not work now they have tried a new rear speaker that did not work. today they have ordered a filter to put on the speaker. It really sucks to buy a new car so far the dealer has had it longer than I have. Thanks for letting me vent.

Well my new red SS was in the shop for three day,s. Got it back today with a new PAL installed the noise is gone in the audio system. The bad news is the xm is acting up it changes from whatever station it's set on to station zero and back again all by itself. I will ride in it for a while before taking it back. Have FUN

 

If it does this after shutting the vehicle off there is a reprogram for that problem. The bulletin just came out and I don't believe it was specfic to the HHR but the dealer can call GM Tech Line and see if they have an update for your HHR.

 

Let me know how you make out with this as my XM does the same thing after installing the PAL.

I found that if you play the IPOD first and then cycle thru to play XM that the problem does not occur or stops if it was already doing it. Really annoying!

Could you try that and tell me if it works for you?

 

BTW - my SS is Victory Red as well. Maybe it's a color thing! :)
