obd 2 dead

Okay, I've searched, hunted, read a bunch but can't find the answer I'm looking for. I have an 06' w/2.4 80K miles. My obd 2 port is dead. I have power to the port and I have the correct readings for 5 of the 6 pinouts. #1 is the one I can't get any info on. I have pin out readings of:

4 = ground

5 = ground

6 = 2.5 volts (key on) 60 ohms w/battery disconnected

14 = 2.5 volts (key on) 60 ohms w/battery disconnected

16 = 13.5 volts (key on)

I have no readings for pin 1.

The obd reader I have has worked perfect til now.

I even tried a different reader known to be good. Didn't work either.

Anybody know what reading I should get from pin #1 and also if the battery should be disconnected or not for the readout?

I'm not having any issues with the vehicle at this time. I had a cel but it has since disappeared.

Check https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/prob...-my-car-21603/ for a diagram of the pin-outs - it's a small diagram though, so you may not to make much sense of it. Pin 1 is a data port - so no idea if it has a voltage readout.

My first thought was the fuse for the cigarette lighter/obdII port might be blown. Might be worthy of a check.

and nope, you do not disconnect the battery to read from the port.

Not sure on the reading.
Looking at the wiring schematic, it shows it to be a Dk Grn/Yel wire going from the #1 pin to a harness connector behind the BCM.
At that connector, it appears to branch out to multiple places.
Theft deterent module, RC door lock receiver, Inflatable Restraint module, Instrument panel cluster, radio, digital radio.

The other pins you seem to have identified correctly.

Okay, thanks guys. Fuses are all good. I went through and cleaned all of the ground wires where they attach to the car. Holly spaghetti bowl fireman...It's gonna take a while to sort that mess out. Maybe later this week i'll get a chance to open up that worm can...getting too old to lay on my back under the dash..lol

Thanks again guys.

Here's a real bowl of spaghetti from the repair manual.

"Conditions for Running the DTC
The battery voltage supplied to the control modules is in the range of 7-26 volts."

I seem to remember that pin #1 is the power, your cig fuse is blown. My memory is not real good tho.

So I used Google. OBD II diagnostic interface pinout diagram @ pinoutsguide.com

Does your tool need to be told to use CAN?

No. Worked fine before. Just plug in and go. There are led lights on the dongle that normally flash in odd sequence. Now there is just one steady red light.

The reader is one of the BlueTooth Chinese thingies? Have you tried Advance/Zone/OReilly?

If it is a BT that's the problem, they are very finicky about connecting.
