one headlight is a different color... help

Ok so on my way to work a few weeks ago my co-worker was in front of me and when we got to work he told me that my headlights were a different color. I thought this would be because I had to replace my passenger side bulb the week before. Well I just purchased new HIDs for my headlights and fog lights. After installing them the same side my coworker said was a different color is still different. I double checked the bulbs to make sure they were the same "k". What could be my issue ? I'm leading towards a grounding issue. But idk. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What do you mean by different color? What color of bulbs are you using?

There could be a couple of things causing this issue. From my understanding, HIDs have a grace period for them to "settle" into their color. I think this is around 100 hours or so. So during that time, the color could fluctuate a bit. Also, it could be your balast going out. I don't think it would make it brighter, but it's a possibility. The last thing I could think of is your angle is off on the bulb. If it's too high or too low, it could cause the color difference.

I've had HIDs before and they never were this off.

Yeah, it's a little odd that there is that much of a difference. And the bulbs are the same color?

I'm just wondering if maybe the manufacturer sent you 2 different colored bulbs. Have you tried switching the bulbs to different sides? I would think that if the bulbs are switched and you have the same problem on the same side, then you know there is something wrong on that side, but if the problem has the problem on the opposite side, then it would have to be the bulb. Make sense?

Testing testing, time for some testing. You might have to swap the balasts from side to side after you swap bulbs.
