P0010 and P0107 car slow to start...
Hey guys,
for starters I have searched in here and on google and saw the error codes mean replace solenoid and map sensor... that is done, error codes still persist and the car take longer to start... cranks for a few seconds before firing up.
2008 HHR LT, just hit 100,000 miles.
CE and TC errors kick on ESC disables
went to Autozone and their system based on the errors says to replace the Variable Valve Timing Sprocket???
any other input as I have very little faith in Autozone's diagnosis...
ALSO I have no way to reset the codes so if there is a way to do that, it could possibly correct the issue?
Thanks,
MUD

Some say 30 minutes.
P0010 is a camshaft position sensor fault.
Yes, if the ECM can't figure out the timing between cam and crank it will cause a slow to start problem.
Why you have a P0107 ,which is for the MAP sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure) is a mystery.
Unless it isn't plugged in or a broken wire ?

A search here did not say to replace the the MAP. It may have said maybe replace it after testing some things.
Exactly what solenoid did you replace? Where is it located and the exact name of it. Should be the VVT valve under the air cleaner.
Both of those codes are for electrical CIRCUIT problems. That could be the internal circuit of the sensor or VVT VALVE is shorted or that the wires are somehow compromised.
Resetting the codes does NOT fix anything. The TC and ESC are a result of the P0010.

Please read the possible solutions, it might require a new MAP sensor, it might just be a loose connection
You really should disconnect the battery negative cable at the battery back in the spare tire area, while you inspect the connections, then reconnect the cable . That will clear the CEL and 30 minutes will clear the computers and reset them. Tgen if the CEL lights up again , have the codes pulled again and post them here.
Patience, no real urgency, yet

Sorry for the delay guys. To answer he questions as to what I replaced I replaced
I will disconnect the ground cable for a bit then reconnect to reset and see what comes up. I will also check the wiring to see if there is anything worn out or damaged.
The car itself is pretty babied, it's my wife's car and she pretty much drives it around town only and maybe on a long trip once in a blue moon.
Intake & Exhaust Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid
The MAP sensor I have yet to replace as I dont feel that is an issue, I think this error popped due to the p0010 but of course will replace if need be.I will disconnect the ground cable for a bit then reconnect to reset and see what comes up. I will also check the wiring to see if there is anything worn out or damaged.

If you replaced one of the VVT valves The other is sure to fail soon. What has happened is somebody replaces one the start the car and the CEL is still on so they assume it is the same problem. I speak from experience. You said
That says 1 solenoid.
Most people that have to rely on AutoZone diagnosing end up getting the wrong part; in this case the camshaft position sensors. That is why I asked the question. No offense intended, No need to shout.
Those codes should clear themselves. If you clear the codes it may take 2-3 weeks before all of the OBD2 test are run.
