Hello All,
Thank you all for posting facts about P0014 and P0016 issues. My car is at the dealer on Long Island, NY now and is being diagnosed. I will post reply with outcome to the fix once completed.

Soooo.....got the car back same day. They changed three sensors. Engine Light went on again the day after while driving in Brooklyn. Brought it back this morning. Dealer said they "started" to look into it and found metal shavings in the engine. Could be bearings or cam shaft (hence the cam shaft sensor issues?). Dealer said the engine needs to go.
In any case, the car has 64,000 + miles on it, so it is under the 5 year/100,000 mile drive train warranty.

@Junior864, thank you for taking the time to share the update with us. You should also have a 12 month or 12,000 mile warranty on the parts and labor of this as well. Be sure to talk with them about that when you go to pick up the vehicle.

Thank you Michelle. Here is the update.
It turns out the motor is being replaced under the warranty.
The cam shaft sensors did their job. They opened up the top half of the motor and found metal shavings. They buttoned it right back up and said they are not taking the chance of rebuilding individual parts and are replacing the entire engine. I'll have the car back hopefully by next Friday. (about a week.)

Junior864 - thanks for getting back with the results of what the dealer found, and how they are going to resolve it for you. Best of luck on the engine replacement.

Thank you Michelle I certainly will. And Whopper, I wish I knew. I'm strict on changing the oil every 3,000 and keeping up on maintenance. Could be any number of things. I know the air filter was changed twice. Maybe debris got in the intake while it was uncovered, or maybe it was just luck of the draw with a bad internal part in the engine.

OK all....got my HHR back yesterday. Had a loaner (rental) for exactly one week. Car was washed, detailed, spotless. Walked in, Service adviser handed me the keys and the paperwork and said, "Ok Mr. ^%@&*@, You're all set. The HHR is outside all washed and ready to go."
That was it. I wasn't even in the dealer for 2 minutes. Everything was covered under the warranty, including 100% of the rental, which was a Silverado 4 door pickup with 3,000 I might add!!!
Four thumbs up (if you include your toe thumbs) for the dealer and Chevrolet.

Glad to hear you got your car back. Sounds like the dealer did exactly what they were supposed to do. Honor the warranty, make the inconvenience as less pain full as possible, fix the issue, and gave great customer service.
