In any case, the car has 64,000 + miles on it, so it is under the 5 year/100,000 mile drive train warranty.
I guess the worst part of the story is the driving in Brooklyn from Long Island part!

Michelle, if I am not mistaken Junior will have the remainder of his factory warranty which gives him 36k or till the 5 years is up on this new engine.

@Junior864, that's awesome! Would you like me to forward a compliment to the dealership? If so, I will let you know the information I will need to get this done for you.

07azhhr, according to the information I have available to me, in the event we (General Motors) replace parts under the new vehicle limited warranty, they will be covered, (parts and labour) for the balance of the applicable portion of the new vehicle limited warranty, but in no event less than 12 months or 12,000 miles. This would be in affect if genuine GM parts are used and the dealership is performing the work.

@07azhhr,

For example, if a person only had (let's say) six months left on their warranty, the parts and labor warranty for the repair performed would be covered for 12 months or 12,000 miles.

Thank you but I think you are failing to grasp that I already understand that concept. Which is why I have already stated twice what the OP still has left. You origionally told the OP to make sure to ask about the 12 month 12k miles new warranty so I was pointing out that in the OP's case the OP still has 36k miles to go or when the 5 years are up. Which ever comes first.
