I really would love it if there was a flex-fuel tune available for the SS. I suspect GM might have been leaning that way when they put larger, ethanol-compatible injectors in the 2010.

There kind of is, but it's not adjustable, like the flex fuel cars. If I had ZZP tune for E47, I'd have to always mix appropriately E47.

Right. So if a 2.2 and 2.4 can be a flex fuel, why can’t an SS sense the ethanol content the exact same way?

I think the potential is there.

SS runs a different algorithms, most likely because of the direct injection mechanism

Seals, lubrication, all those other bits.

Yes, of course. The hardware should be no big deal, and as I mentioned, the 2010 SS does have ethanol compatible injector seals. I’m thinking GM was insufficiently motivated. Maybe the tuners, too. Or maybe it’s just too hard.

Perhaps, the SS was deemed to be a performance model, and so they didn’t focus on anything but high performance with the turbo and direct injection being relatively new back then , 14 years ago.

Huh, seems the LHU is an updated, FlexFuel version of the LNF. So my guess is they didn’t bother with FF for the LNF because the LHU was in the pipe.

2011-2013 Buick Regal GS and several more.

Apparent not an unusual swap for HHR SS and Cobalt LNF. Wonder if they take advantage of the FlexFuel, or just use the LNF ECM.
