P0302 and rough idle/cel light
hello all,
approximately 2.5 weeks ago, i changed the plugs on my 2010 LT. with ac delco oem plugs. same part number and all.
noticed some oil on #3 spark plug boot, and oil on threads. immeidately suspected spark plug gasket seal leak. dealer confirmed this and i was scheduled to have the gasket replaced under warranty. date of repair was scheduled for 3/8.
on 3/2. while driving 55mph, CEL LIGHT came on. tach started going crazy, never got over 3500 rpm, Noticeable miss and lots of shaking. eventually got car home, Very slowly. scanned for code, came up with p0302. thinking i may have had a bad spark plug, i just took the new one out and put the old one back in. no improvement. so now im thinking its either the spark plug coil on that cylinder or a fuel injector. had car towed to dealer this morning. couldn't drive it with it missing bad. thankfully insurance company is going to reimburse me for the tow. vehicle has 72,000 miles. your thoughts?

P0302 = # 2 cylinder misfire..
You could have tried switching coils & see if if the misfire moved cylinders. Then you would know it is a bad coil pak.
As to the tow, you should be covered for Free tow, for 5 yrs or 100K
Call: 1.800.CHEV-USA (243.8872)
