P0446 and hard time filling at gas pump

Hello everyone well it seems my HHR hit 50k and **** just starting breaking. First it was the throttle posting ion sensor which was making the car do that weird limp mode thing. That was covered u der warranty along with the broken blower fan. Then the car was over heating becuase literally there was no coolant in the car. Found out later that was the dealers fault they did a coolant flush ..... And forgot to fill it. Now out of no where
The car at the pump is extremely hard to put gas into like the gas pump keeps shutting off and I'm getting a P0446 Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) Vent System Performance code.
I'm going on vacation, the dealer can see me until I get back but is there a way to fix this problem myself. What exactly is causing this? Thanks for any help

Did you use the SEARCH facility at the top of the page and look for "P0446"?

There is only one posting there that seems related, and in it, they replaced part number CP471, which is located under the hood, and is available from the Chevy dealer, as well as places like RockAuto. It's probably not that hard a part to replace.

A GM dealer is supposed to use their expensive "coolant exchange" machine, that makes it impossible to forget to refill. I hope that that particular problem is well documented for the future problems that WILL come.

Not even getting into why did you change coolant before 150,000 miles? Read your Owner Manual.

Well I would to report that the problem went away by itself. One day I could put gas into the car again with no problems and then later that day the check engine light turned off. The only thing I could figure is that I filled up with 93 octane gas right before I started having these problems... Wondering if that some how messed it up?

Hello

Why would you pay the price to use 93 octane?

Did you OVER FILL it........you know, get the last drop in......instead of letting the automatic pump turn-off do it's job?

Type of gas wouldnt do it... some gas pumps though can... had some where i could only use the first click on the handle, anything else was too much pressure...if this the case then theres a chance you had fuel back up the vent and maybe into the purge. Some of the new environmental pumps really suck..

The kind of pumps that seal to the tank are a problem when the venting system does not work properly. Yes, there are several different types of fume recovery systems around the country, some seal & suck, some seem to seal, some just capture some do nothing etc. Could be you used a different pump than you are used to and did not get it seated the way they want you to.
