Paint problem

Hi kids. I remember a thread about this a long time ago, but couldn't find it. My '09 Victory Red SS has mismatched paint. The hood and doors are darker than the rest of the car. Can someone (ChevyMGR?) tell me the steps to take with GM to have this addressed? I'm sure the first response they will give me is "We don't see it". Where do I go from there? The car is 5 months old, 12,600 miles.

there was a post or two around 2 years ago, and if you look at posted pics of members there is a color differance on some of them. If I remember, your best bet is to have someone at the dealership verify. You can also do an old artists trick to check color matching. take a piece of white paper and cut two boxes in it several inches apart then hold it up to the door and fender. any change in color will pop out. Also cameras are sensitive to red so try taking pics at diffrent angles.

I didn't realize that the HHR had this problem. I was at a chevy dealer last week and seen a new orange Camaro on one of their raised display racks and it was 2 different colors as well. Maybe they are having a paint plant issue.

Other than Black, all new Camaros appear to have that issue, solely because of the angle of the 1/4 panels next to the flat doors. The colors will appear to change as you look from another angle.

It's an optical illusion.

I figured it may be that, otherwise there would be a lot of ticked off Camaro owners. Never seen a HHR with it though.
