I tried the search function, but didn't see this topic.

When I depress the brake pedal, my amber parking lamps come on? Also, the CEL came on today too.

Could this be related to the lousy LED lamps I installed in the rear, I see a few are burned out already, and the flasher started going faster like a lamp is out.

I don't have any old standard lamps to check it....yet.

Am I headed in the right direction for diagnosis?

The odd light behavior may be related to the LED's, the hyper active flasher is a giveaway.

The CEL is probably another issue, have your codes pulled and post 'em up.

I would unplug the rear led lamps then hit the brakes. if the amber lights no longer come on with the brakes I would say the rear leds are your problem.
