Don I've done the battery thing and yes things go back to normal for period of time until it happens when it wants to.
When this first started I had the original AC Delco battery (maybe it was 9 years old ?) and all I did was pull the 50 amp maxi fuse at the battery to reset the BCM.
Thoughts on this ?
The battery has been changed two times now so I think the battery is not in the equation now.

RAP is detailed in your owners manual. It's been discussed on this site before in other threads.

Retained Accessory Power (RAP)
These vehicle accessories may be used for up to 10minutes after the engine is turned off. . Audio System . Power Windows, if equipped . Sunroof, if equipped The power windows and sunroof will continue to work for up to 10minutes or until any door is opened. The radio will work when the key is in ON/RUN or ACC/ ACCESSORY. Once the key is turned from ON/RUN to OFF/LOCK, the radio will continue to work for 10minutes or until the driver's door is opened.

Sorry for my dumbness on not knowing this acronym and reading about it in my owners manual.

As a side note I did find a tool that you can use quickly to check for parasitic drain of the battery.
This tool say's Blue Point (a.k.a. Snap On) but can be bought under it's trade name Amp Hound.
Acronym a.k.a. is for Also Known As.

Yes I agree. It can speed things up in trying to locate the source of a battery drain problem.

It's called half a DVOM the ammeter half with a builtin bus bar. As outlined earlier.

That's DigitalVoltOhmMeter.

Mine is analog, old school from the early 70’s, my Uncle gave it to me when I graduated High School in 1973.
It still works

I just want to pass along some info I found.
This is helpful in finding parasitic battery drain problems with a good known battery.
Using a Digital Volt Ohm Meter (DVOM) and set on millivolt scale (mV) you can find voltage drop by using your probes across a fuse and use a chart to convert it to milliAmp (mA).
Here is the link and charts you can use for all types of fuses:
