Yes, it is the same on my SS, the rear speaker does not even sound like it works.....

In my case it sounded almost as good as the aftermarket system in my wife's car and she has TWO 8 or 10" (can't remember) subs in back.

By the way, does PFS indicate Primerica Financial Services by any chance? (Just curious).
good tip will have to try............

Yes, i am not impressed with the 7 speaker premium package either. It is OK, but not worth all the extra $ in my book. I didn't order it though, I bought a demo car off the lot.

I think that eventually I will upgrade. Man, that Pioneer D3 looks and sounds really nice bluonyx!

I have an 06 LT on loaner for a day or so while the SS is in for some service. The SS has the Pioneer system in it and the LT obviously does not. There is a huge difference between the two. The SS sounds so much better!

I'm in agreement on the rear not sounding all that great too.(SSw/ the 7 spkr Pioneer setup here)
The adjusting front/rear and kicking up the volume mentioned here kinda works somewhat, but it's not the same

It would be nice to have the full front/rear experience.

It would be better if there was an independent control for just the subwoofer. Then you could crank the other speakers however you wish without worrying about taking anything away from the sub. That's the way it is in our other car but then we installed it ourselves and it's an aftermarket head unit.

Well with the AVIC-D3 you can adjust the subwoofer output. When the subwoofer output is on, you can adjust the cut-off frequency, the output level and the phase of the subwoofer.

Once you installed this D3 of yours, did you lose any features such as the retained radio power or the text display of what's playing? I've always steered clear of removing stock equipment because it always seems as though you end up sacrificing something. I guess I just prefer to leave things alone though I would like to be able to control the subwoofer independently but I also don't want to lose any other features.

Thanks.

Since I used the Metra harness to keep the Onstar & factory amp I was able to keep the RAP. I also tapped my Overhead into it also, so everything still plays for 10 minutes then it turns off. Unless you open you driver's door or cycle the ignition.

I get text displayed on regular FM and Satellite on the D3. It's pretty cool!
