Popping/loud tick from front under power.

A while back I posted asking if anyone had a popping sound coming from the front under acceleration, or when shifting out of park into gear. Turns out that the CVs were goin' on it after 63k miles. Its a well documented issue going back to 07. Took it to Bankston Chevy in Dallas and gettin' it worked on under warranty. so glad its got the 100k warranty!

Mine does that. Does it a lot when i take it from park to reverse. And i can here it pop when i take off hard from a stop. I thought it was the transmission or motor mounts flexing.

Now they are telling me its rust on the rotors and if the clean it and it doesn't pop its $110... even though the rotors were replaced not too long ago and the mating surfaces will have no rust. THIS is why I do all my own work. I hate dealing with dealers who just want your money.

yep. they told me that the rotors, that I replaced less than 6 months ago, have excessive rust at the mating surfaces and that is causing the wheel to slip under acceleration and causes that loud pop that can be felt thru the floor and steering wheel. he said to "clean them very well, and grease them or paint them so they wont rust, and that will take care of it".

Here are the parts with "a lot of rust..."

Doesn't look like they sanded or greased them properly six months ago. I had mine done four months ago and I can still see grease.

I know.. they should have used the muffler bearing grease as per the service manual. Maybe they had the French canadian version instead of the mexican version... Im sure the parts were made in Mexico...

I hate it when the wheel slips on the torqued down wheel nuts and studs. I think we need a centric ring that has notches in it to lock the wheel and hub together.
