One more step: Taking the car to the dealer to have the BCM reflashed to work with the new radio's security code!

it may have to have the dealer to "flash" it so the computer and radio sync up

Well, the joys of used vehicles. I replaced the radio and got the sounds back! My turn signals still dont shut off, chevy dealership called after examing my wiper fluid and mirror problem, and have decided it is a wiring problem. So, they are calling me back in the morning to see what they have found!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!!

Seriously, the signals not shutting off are probably due to a mechanical misadjustment which likely happened because the steering column was likely replaced during its previous ownership. I know that a mistake when replacing the steering column will cause the problem because this happened to me after my dealer replaced the steering column. They adjusted the mechanism that cancels the signals and all is well. I highly doubt that it's electrical!

This sound like a weird problem....It could be a problem with the wiring in the steering column...i dont know for sure but I am interested in seeing what it is when you actually get it fixed...

Fun stuff. No a big deal though.
Turns out it the wiring was bad for the washer fluid pump and it shorted out the controls for the mirrors somehow.

Didnt cost much, dealer very nice to deal with concerning the issues.
