Power Steering/Rattle/Onstar
My husband got an alert this morning when he got into my car to go to the gym. It just said power steering, he turned it off and got out the manual. He was going to check the power steering fluid but the book says the steering is electrical. He started it back up and no alert, nothing and it ran fine. I drove it later this morning without any issues. Anyone else had this happen? Also, my HHR has a noise underneath, you can feel it under your feet, like something is loose. My husband put it on a lift a while back, and checked everything out and it all seemed to be snug. He seems to think its in the wheel wells. Anyone else experienced this? And my Onstar light is red 90% of the time. This has been going on for over a year and has gradually gotten worse, as far as how often the light is red. Have called Onstar, they say to take it to the dealer and when I take it to the dealer they say to call Onstar. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Try the very useful search tool at the top of the page.
What do you mean by "alert"? If you mean on the Dashboard DIC, then you probably have a failing Power Steering motor.
"Noise underneath" is pretty nebulous, but I'm thinking wheel hubs/bearings. or exhaust flex pipe.
Do you subscribe to Onstar? You should have a book for it.
You should give us more info like year, model, mileage etc.
