I tried that and it sent me to a website that was no help, then a couple of links were 404 file not found, so I gave up and did my own search and found the NHTSA file. to save others following this thread the hassle, I included it here. since most of the threads about the problem were older ones, I started a new one. Feel free to moderate it or merge with an exsisting thread.

You must have a virus! That link is to a part of this site.
You might try exploring this site a bit. Start by looking under the "FORUMS" tab at the top left.

He means that the thread here on site, that we linked to, is full of bad links.

Jim, I'll put your link in the other thread also, thanks for sleuthing!

NOW there's a power steering recall on GM vehicles?! No, it's a warranty extension! - Page 27 - Chevy HHR Network

What link is not working? Every one I tried works.

The links in post #1 and #3 were dead. I had replaced the links in #1 before, and now again,

Sometimes web content gets rearranged on the whim of the webmaster. The content is still there, it’s just in a new directory. Then, just to add i sult to injury, they’ll put a “do not index” tag on it. Then good luck ever finding it again.

Do we have a permanent archive within the forum for public domain content so that we can make links that will never break?

The others seem to be gone but one directed to a GM website with current articles and did not pertain to the steering problem.

This one is still there but gives a 404 error

No, our links are public domain links, if the page has changed, we can’t control that.

The relevant parts are all over the place in the following 26 pages. I made a point of posting the NHTSA link on the last page, so that people that notice there are 27 pages have sense enough to go to the end. But as I posted on that last page "scrolling is sooo hard". That thread is now closed so the last page will remain.

I'm pretty sure any info that is NOT in that thread about the power steering is not relevant. 27 pages covers darn near everything more than once.
Not even getting into the 10's of other threads on the subject, it has been going on for more than 10 years; not a new thing.
